Ronald
F. Meadows, President, previously enjoyed a career as a
corporate executive and management consultant where he had
substantial involvement in all aspects of business merger,
acquisition and divestiture. Such M & A work included
selecting corporate acquisition targets, soliciting potential
sellers and/or buyers, and structuring and closing transactions.
Prior to coming to the Low
Country, he founded a pioneering health care company in Southern
California. He raised $4 million in private venture capital and
then led a public offering of the company’s shares. Some years
later, he merged the company with another after targeting and
evaluating numerous companies as merger or acquisition
candidates.
Earlier he held several top
management positions with Johnson & Johnson, one of America’s
largest corporations. He was President of Invacare Corporation,
a Johnson & Johnson company, and ultimately managed the
process of selling the company to private investors. He was also
Vice President, Marketing and Sales, for J & J’s medical
imaging company, Technicare, and Vice President, Business
Development for another Johnson & Johnson operation.
Mr. Meadows' initial involvement
in the process of selling and acquiring companies came as a
management consultant with McKinsey & Company, the world’s
premier management consulting firm. He directed consulting work
for clients over a period of years in the United States as well
as Great Britain, Australia and Canada. The major focus of his
work was assisting large corporations in the development of
business strategies, organization structures, new product
development programs and the identification and evaluation of
acquisition candidates.
Earlier he was an Account
Executive and then Director of Media and Research for Marsteller,
Inc., a New York-based advertising agency, and its sister public
relations firm, Burson-Marsteller. These companies are now part
of Young & Rubicam.
